God told Jonah to go one way, he went the opposite way and ended up getting chewed up and spit out for his efforts. Well, swallowed and spit out, anyway. Jonah tried to run across the sea to get away from God and wound up realizing that he even under the sea he couldn't get away. God was there with a plan in hand to rescue Jonah from his own foolishness.
